J’ai réalisé ce projet pour et avec une amie, raison pour laquelle j’ai oublié de photographier les premières étapes.
Les planches sont maintenues par un tasseau à chaque extrémité, lesquels sont fixés sous les planches avec une vis et une goutte de colle.

I made this project for and with a friend of mine, reason why I forgot to shoot the first steps.
The boards are held together by a cleat on each end, which as fastened under the boards with a screw and a drop of glue.

Le cercle rouge sert à indiquer que j’ai fraisé chaque bord des planches avant l’assemblage afin d’ajouter une touche décorative et adoucir les bords.
Nul besoin de dire que j’ai sorti dehors pour brûler la surface supérieure avec une torche au gaz propane, ainsi que tous les côtés apparents. C’est facile et l’effet est spectaculaire, selon les goûts de chacun, bien sûr.
The red circle is used to indicate that I chamfered all edges of the boards before assembly to add a decorative touch and smooth out the edges.
No need to say that I when outdoors to burn the top surface with a small propane torch, as well as all visible sides. It’s easy and the effect is spectacular, according to each one taste, of course.
Compte tenu que la plateau sera utilisé dans un environnement humide, j’ai choisi l’huile de lin comme finition, trois couches.
Since the tray will be used in a humid environment, I chose linseed oil as a finish, three coats.
Avant chaque couche supplémentaire, je poli avec du papier d’artisanat grossier pour éliminer toute poussière, et pour adoucir davantage.
Before each additional coat, I like to polish all surfaces with heavy craft paper to eliminate any dust, and to smooth out further more.
Plus il y a de couches, meilleure est la protection et plus lustré le fini.
The more coats, better the protection and luster sheen.
Finalement, j’ai appliqué trois couches de polyuréthane à base d’eau au chiffon de coton, et ce pour sa durabilité. Ce produit parait laiteux à l’application, mais il sèche très clair, tel que montré sur la deuxième photo.
Finally, I wiped on three coats of water-based polyurethane with a cotton rag, for its durability. This product appears to be milky when applied, but it dries very clear, as shown on the second photo.
Le projet étant terminé, j’ai appliqué des coussins aux quatre coins inférieurs.
The project being completed, I’ve applied cushions on the underneath corners.
